The laboratory
Laboratory of Precision Manufacturing, Reverse Engineering and Biomechanics (PMREB Lab) belongs to the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Hellenic Mediterranean University in Heraklion, Crete.
Its applications serve laboratory members and partners, supporting the management of the laboratory and the design and virtual testing of structures for additive manufacturing.

Research areas
- Precision manufacturing: Precision manufacturing concerns the accurate production of parts. Geometry and process constraints connect design decisions with production.
- Reverse engineering: Measurement and digitisation describe the shape of an existing object. Reconstruction of geometry turns these observations into a basis for design and analysis.
- Biomechanics: Scaffolds and structures for biomedical use connect geometry with mechanical behaviour. Virtual studies help explore how a structure responds to loading.
- Additive manufacturing: Design for printing considers both geometry and process limits. Lattices can be generated from cell parameters or implicit fields, then studied through virtual testing.
